    Introduction

Every entrepreneur faces a set of common frustrations, such as limited control, concerns with people, profit issues, stifled growth, and feeling stuck despite numerous strategies. Traction addresses these issues by providing a practical and thorough method to strengthen and re-energize your business through the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).

"You already have everything you need to succeed. You just have to put all of the moving parts into the right places within the system." —Gino Wickman

    The Entrepreneurial Operating System

The EOS consists of six core components: Vision, People, Data, Issues, Process, and Traction. These components are designed to help business leaders focus their energy on key areas, thereby gaining more control and achieving better results. The system is freeing because it limits focus to these key areas, eliminating the need to worry about every little detail.

    Vision

Creating and communicating a clear vision is essential for business success. A vision that is embraced and put into action by everyone in the organization ensures alignment and direction. However, a vision that is overly complicated or poorly communicated can become a mere poster on the wall, failing to inspire or guide the team.

"A vision that is not embraced and put into action is simply a poster on a wall." —Gino Wickman

To be effective, leaders must ensure that the vision is simple, clear, and compelling. It should outline where the business is, where it plans to go, and how it plans to get there. Everyone in the organization should see and understand this vision as clearly as the leader does.

    1. Define where the business is, where it plans to go, and how it plans to get there.
    2. Ensure every team member understands and aligns with the vision.

    People

Success in business requires the right people in the right seats. This means aligning team members with the company's core values and placing them in roles where they can utilize their skills and passions effectively. It’s about more than just hiring talented individuals; it’s about ensuring they fit within the company culture and are positioned to thrive.

"The right people fit and thrive in your culture and make your workplace better." —Gino Wickman

Wickman introduces the concept of "right people" and "right seats." The right people share the core values of the organization and enhance the work environment. The right seats mean that these people are in roles that leverage their greatest skills and passions.

To analyze if you have the right people, use the People Analyzer tool. List your company's core values and assess each team member against these values. Additionally, evaluate if they fit their roles using the GWC (Get it, Want it, Capacity to do it) framework.
